CFBISD’s back-to-school checklist for families
Mattison Gossett

The first day of school is just around the corner. Carrollton-Farmers-Branch ISD students return to school on Tuesday, Aug. 11. To help families prepare, we've put together a quick checklist to ensure everyone is ready for a successful start to the new school year.

Complete student enrollment
If you haven’t done so, there is still time to enroll for the 2026-27 school year online or in person at the CFBISD Enrollment Center at 1820 Pearl St., Carrollton. Enrollment Center hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

For families needing assistance outside regular business hours, the Enrollment Center will host two extended sessions before the first day of school:

  • 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5
  • 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 8
Review updated campus hours
CFBISD campuses will operate on the following schedules this school year:
  • Elementary School: 7:30 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.
  • Middle School: 8:10 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  • High School: 8:40 a.m. to 4:05 p.m.
  • Early College High School: 8 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.
Download the ParentSquare app
ParentSquare serves as the district's primary communication platform for families and staff. Downloading the mobile app provides centralized access to school announcements, teacher messages, real-time alerts and critical updates.

Update contact information in Parent Self-Serve
Parents should log in to Parent Self-Serve to verify and update their contact information so they receive urgent district communications. Families can also use Parent Self-Serve to view grades, attendance, class schedules and more.

Review transportation updates
Families utilizing district transportation are encouraged to review updated bus routes, learn about the bus badge program and download the new parent mobile app to track bus locations in real time.

Set up a SchoolCafé account
Families are encouraged to set up a SchoolCafé account, a one-stop platform for managing their student's school nutrition.

Through SchoolCafé, parents can:

  • Monitor meal balances and purchase histories.
  • Make online prepayments or configure automatic payments.
  • Set up low-balance alerts.
  • Submit applications for free or reduced-price meal benefits and access eligibility letters.
  • View school menus, nutritional information and allergen details.

Review your school supply lists
CFBISD generic school supply lists for the 2026-27 school year are available on the district website. Families should contact their school for campus-specific lists.

Review safety and security resources
Safety resources are available on the district website for families to review before the first day of school, including emergency parent guides, inclement weather protocols and more.

Verify your student’s immunization records
Students must meet state immunization requirements before attending the first day of class. For families needing updated vaccines, CFBISD will host a back-to-school immunization clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7, and Monday, Aug. 10, at the ESDC building (1820 Pearl St., Carrollton). A current copy of the student's immunization record is required upon arrival.

View all required immunizations here.

Need back-to-school help?
Families needing assistance during the first week of school are encouraged to call CFBISD's Back-to-School Hotline at 972-968-6500, which opens at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11.

We look forward to another great year!
