Shamsah Sheikh brings 19 years of experience in education, having served in a range of roles including special education teacher, general education teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal. Her work is grounded in a strong instructional foundation, with a focus on supporting teachers, strengthening classroom practices, and improving outcomes for all students. She is committed to building collaborative school cultures and ensuring high levels of learning for every student.
Sheikh earned her bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and her master’s degree from the University of North Texas. In addition to her work on campus, she is actively involved in her community as a national project lead supporting adults in developing English language skills, reflecting her belief in lifelong learning and service.
She is married to Mahmood Sheikh and the proud parent of two adult children, Asad and Uzma, and enjoys spending time with her German shepherd, Titan.
